WHEN A LIE LEANS IN
Word up
When a lie leans in, starts talkin’ out loud,
I don’t lose my head, I don’t play to the crowd,
I don’t take swings, I don’t roll the dice,
I speak what’s written, cold, clear, precise.
Every time I open my mouth to say,
Truth shows up and it clears the way.
I speak the Word, cuts through the noise,
Steel-edge truth in a world of voice,
Ain’t my angle, ain’t my side,
It’s the Spirit speakin’, not my pride.
Jesus said, “It is written,” steady and slow,
Didn’t raise His voice, didn’t steal the show,
Truth don’t rush and it don’t chase,
One clean line and the lie breaks.
I don’t need fire, I don’t need flame,
Truth stands tall all the same.
I speak the Word, cuts through the noise,
Steel-edge truth in a world of voice,
Ain’t my angle, ain’t my side,
It’s the Spirit speakin’, not my pride.
Ain’t to wound,
Ain’t to bend,
Truth corrects,
Truth defends.
Who speaks? The Spirit
What speaks? The Word
I speak the Word, truth on my tongue,
Every war’s over before it’s begun,
I don’t shout, I don’t pretend,
One Word spoken, that’s how it ends.
Speak Truth, stand firm,
Carry on till the Kingdom comes.
